Area: Trastevere/Santa Maria
Located in Trastevere, one of the most historic districts in Rome dating back many centuries, this third floor Bed & Breakfast is set in a handsome elevator building.
Overlooking the large Piazza San Cosimato, with its traditional and typical street market, gives one the true feeling of the area and its people.
The B&B consists of two separate rooms;
- the Aurelia suite which has a bedroom with a double bed and a sitting area with a sofa bed;
- the Cassia room which has a double bed.
The rooms can be rented by a single family or by 2 separate guests. Both rooms are air conditioned, have double glazed windows, a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, a small refrigerator, a television, wireless Internet access and a safe. The apartment has a balcony that is available for guest use which is accessible from the living room/dining room area, the same area in which breakfast will be served.
A large, friendly dog is a resident in the house.
The local train from Leonardo Da Vinci Airport stops at the Trastevere Train Station. Tram number 8 takes 5 minutes to get to the B&B from that station.
The Trastevere District with all its various restaurants, pubs and shops is a center of active Roman life – day and night. The centrally located piazza of the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere is a favorite meeting place for young Romans. The famous Porta Portese flea market, a sprawling open air market open only on Sunday mornings, attracts a crowd of hundreds and is a true Roman adventure. Other interesting places in Trastevere include the Botanical Gardens, Piazza Trilussa and its fountain, and the Regina Coeli jail with its 17th century interior. Not too far from the house (but an uphill walk) is the Gianicolo, one of Rome’s seven hills from which there is a breath taking view of the city. The ancient, historic center of the city is an easy walk (or a very short ride on Tram No.8) across the river to Largo Argentina. Many historical sights are all within easy reach from here such as Piazza Venezia, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia , the Coliseum and the Vatican.
Check-in begins at 12 (noon). On Sundays breakfast is not served in the B&B but guests are given a voucher for breakfast in a nearby bar. Children welcome. No smoking & no pets.
