|MAP OF THIS ACCOMMODATION |
Area: Centro Navona/Campo de' Fiori
This air conditioned apartment, located on the 2nd floor in an historic elevator building dating to the 18th century, is on a very old, historic street of Rome. The street leads into the centuries old and very famous Campo de' Fiori and is a wonderful area and accommodation in which to spend a Roman holiday.
Although located in the very heart of the historical city center (which is wonderful for a tourist) the apartment is on a narrow side street that cancels out much of the noise of the city. It is a perfect place to vacation in Rome.
The apartment has a wonderful "open space" of 40 sqm (400 sq ft) (which is perfect for a couple) and looks out onto a small garden in an internal courtyard. It has been renovated in 2012 and decorated in soft pastel colors with some designer accent pieces and special Italian touches that combine practicality with comfort. The courtyard, along with the thermal insulated double glazed windows, helps to assure a quiet apartment.
In one corner of the apartment there is a sleeping area with a double bed (not dividable) and a free standing closet rack. The bathroom, (entered from the bedroom area) has a spacious shower and a hairdryer.
Opposite this area is a sitting area with “bag” chairs and a small fireplace (decorative only).
Across the room is a kitchen/dining area with a microwave, toaster, kettle, two electric stove units, a refrigerator, iron and ironing board. A TV is mounted on the kitchen wall.
A network Internet Wi-Fi is available.
Please, no pets and no smoking.
This apartment can be rented along with Apartment 001 on the same floor to allow groups of 5 or 6 people traveling together to be in one location.
This street is truly in the center of historical Rome and has for centuries gone through Campo de‘ Fiori directly into the Jewish Ghetto. The Palazzo Farnese (currently the French Embassy), one of Rome’s greatest Renaissance palaces dating to 1514, is just around the corner with its magnificent piazza and twin fountains with enormous granite baths taken from the Terme di Caracalla. Around the corner is the Via Giulia, one of the famous antique venues in the world. The Piazza Navona, possibly the most visited piazza in Rome, is across the street. St Peter’s is a short 15 minute walk away. Many other historical tourist sites such the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Coliseum are all within a reasonable walking distance and public transportation is readily available on Corso Vittorio Emanuele and at Largo Argentina to all sections of Rome. During the morning the Campo de’ Fiori is the scene of a centuries old open air market selling all the Italian ingredients one needs for preparing true Italian dishes. A special treat is the pizza bianca freshly made at the "forno" in the piazza. There are many other shops such as the famous Roscioli bakery, a supermarket, pharmacies, restaurants and banks in this lively area. In the evening Campo de’ Fiori becomes a thriving center of night life with restaurants, pizzerias, wine bars and shops. The restaurant Ditirambo, which is around the corner from the Piazza della Cancelleria, serves typical regional Italian dishes.
