This 60 sqm (650 sq ft) apartment is on the 4th floor of an elevator building built in the 1950’s. It is on one of the main thoroughfares of Rome but in a section that is lightly traveled and when coupled with its double glazed windows offers a quiet interior ambience.
It also has a generous number of windows which creates a bright interior.
It is furnished simply but comfortably consisting of a living/dining room with a table & chairs, a double sofa bed (not dividable) & a TV; an eqipped kitchen with a gas range and oven, a refrigerator, sink, kettle and a small table & chairs for breakfast and snacking.
The bedroom has a double bed (non dividable) and a large closet; the bathroom has a stall shower, a hair dryer, an electric heater and a clothes washer. Both the living room and bedroom have a ceiling fan for the warm seasons and there is an iron and ironing board in the unit.
The hosts speak English and some French.
Children are welcome.
The day of arrival check in no later than 10 pm.
The Basilica of San Giovanni, the home church of the Pope when he is performing in his role as Bishop of Rome, is ½ mile away. The Re di Roma station on Metro Line A is just 200 mt/yds away. Line A goes directly to many of the major sights of Rome such as the Spanish Steps, Piazza Barberini (the Via Veneto), Piazzale Flaminio (the Stadium & the Parco della Musica), and the Vatican and the Vatican Museum. Line A also goes directly to the Stazione Termini (the main railroad Station) where it connects with Subway Line B which goes to the Coliseum and the Roman Forum as well as at many other sights of ancient Rome. At the Stazione there is a direct train to Fiumicino Airport which when combined with Subway Line A makes arrival and departure for this unit very convenient. One terminal of Line A is at the Anagnina Station where there is a bus connection to Ciampino airport.
The Appia Nuova, one of the original Roman Consular Roads, is nearby and full of shops and bars. Locally on via Orvieto there are fresh fruit and vegetable markets giving guests a flavor of Roman life. Some of the best Tiramisu in Rome can be eaten at the Pompi Bakery on via Albalonga.
